Have you ever been fascinated by the tendency to predict or just "know" stuttering moments before they happen? Have you wanted to learn more about that anticipation, and what is actually happening in our neurology when it happens? Well, you're in luck!

Please join us for this special Speaker Series featuring Dr. Eric Jackson, PhD, CCC-SLP, a leading expert on the phenomenon of anticipation in the stuttering experience. Participants can expect a comprehensive overview of the current research literature as it relates to stuttering and the experience of anticipation, with plenty of time to discuss ways to deal with anticipation more productively.

Dr. Eric S. Jackson is Associate professor and Director of the stuttering and vvariability (savvy) lab at New York University. His research examines the variability of stuttering—why people stutter sometimes in certain situations but not in others. Eric uses neural, physiological, behavioral, and qualitative methods to study the social-cognitive and anticipatory processes that contribute to this variability. He is also a speech-language pathologist and clinical educator with more than 16 years of experience, as well as a person who stutters. Eric’s goal is to use basic science approaches, his clinical expertise, and his deep knowledge of the stuttering experience to, ultimately, inform support mechanisms and intervention approaches to improve the lives of children and adults who stutter.
