For the August edition of our Speaker Series, AIS welcomes Andrew Meier, postdoctoral fellow in speech neuroscience at Boston University. Andrew uses intracranial recordings to investigate the neural bases of speech production and dysfluency.

For the AIS event, he will share from his research, which aims at understanding the brain systems that enable us to speak fluently and how the breakdown of these systems results in stuttering. Meier was originally inspired to pursue research in order to understand his own stutter, which he shares with family members, and through an internship at the University of Illinois Stuttering Research Program.
