It can be hard to ask for what you want. Our culture has rules around asking things of others, and these can be tricky to navigate. Where is the line between too passive and too pushy? If we’re aggressive, we can bulldoze others' boundaries, but if we’re passive, we risk being disappointed - or even resentful - when our needs aren’t met.
In this workshop, participants will explore assertive communication in a stuttering-friendly environment. We’ll identify different communication styles, learn assertiveness techniques, and brainstorm effective ways to handle the situations where it’s hardest to stand up for ourselves.
